Walgreens 101

Going to Walgreens for a shopping trip and trying to save with the Register Rewards takes some preparation! Do your homework!!!

Here are a few tips to help you out:

Know what product is good for the deal. Make sure you are buying the correct product including quantities, sizes, dollar amounts. If it says you must purchase $10 worth of items, you must spent $10 on the items not $9.99. If it says Men’s Dove Bodywash, Women’s Bodywash won’t work!

Don’t try to use Register Rewards on the same item. You cannot take a Register Rewards you just received for an item and attempt to purchase the same item for another Register Rewards. Don’t try to use your Register Rewards on the same item OR same manufacturer/brand. You must have a “filler” item (a cheap item to purchase WITH the register rewards deal if you’re using a register reward in your transaction.

Multiple transactions: Most of the time ads will tell you “only one coupon printed per transaction.” So if you want to buy 2 toothpastes and get 2 Register Rewards, you’ll have to ask the cashier to split your transaction up. My local store does this for me. (Check with your local store) Or, just ask your friendly cashier to do a couple transactions back-to-back IF NO ONE IS IN LINE BEHIND YOU. If someone is behind you, do one transaction and go to the back of the line for your next transaction. This is just shopper’s courtesy!

You CAN use a manufacturers coupon towards the purchase of a Register Rewards item.

Register Rewards are considered manufacturers’ coupons. Because these are the promotional offerings of manufacturers, Walgreens treats these as manufacturers’ coupons. Therefore, you cannot use a manufacturer coupon AND a Register Rewards coupon in the purchase of 1 item. You must have at least as many items as manufacturer coupons. Sometimes you might need to purchase a small filler item to make the transaction work (such as a pencil, candy, etc.).
