I am committed to being completely ethical when it comes to coupon usage and I urge anyone who follows this blog to do the same. Here are a few topics on my coupon ethics. Your ethics may be different from mine and it’s ok if your ethics are different, but nonetheless I choose to share anyway.
::Use the coupon for the product that the manufacturer intended. Please read the fine print of each coupon and abide those rules.
::Never Photocopy Internet Printable Coupons. Manufacturers limit most coupons to print 2 per computer to enforce limits. Photocopying coupons is fraud and a crime.
::Be Careful About Coupons In the pdf Format. Make sure that you only pdf coupons that come straight from the manufacturer’s website. There are a lot of fraudulent pdf coupons available out there.
::Printing multiple pdf coupons. There are times when there are legit pdf coupons. When these coupons become available I urge you to please print responsibly. Just because you can print as many as you want doesn’t mean you should. A manufacturer releases a coupon so many people will use their product, not so one person can print many coupons.
::Use ”peelies” for the product intended. Please do not take peelies off of a product you do not intend to buy. Peelies on certain products are meant to be used on that particular product.
On the other hand, “Blinkies” and tearpad coupons can be taken and used at other stores, but please take responsibly. In other words, don’t grab the entire tearpad or rip out 50 “blinkies” to save for later.
::You can not buy or sell coupons. My view has changed on this since I began couponing. I want to be completely ethical and follow the rules so I will not promote the sale of coupons on this blog anymore.
The CIC says that there is no legitimate way to sell your unwanted coupons. The sale or transfer of coupons is a violation of virtually all manufacturers’ coupon redemption policies. Rules are rules- just follow them.
::Ad Matching at Walmart. Just because Walmart does not require you to take the ad in with you, doesn’t mean you should fabricate the truth and ad match something that is not on sale at another store. The product has to be the exact same product in order to ad match at Walmart. In that same regard, please do not try to ad match another store’s brand to Walmart’s store brand. Walmart’s ad policy does not allow it, so you shouldn’t try to “sneak” it by the cashier.
